Can I cut hydrangea blooms?
I'd like to use some of the flowers for my table. I've tried searching for an answer but I keep coming up with pruning rules. I'm not looking to prune, just to chop off a few of the blooms. Can I do that without harming future blooms?
Here are my hydrangeas:

Re: Can I cut hydrangea blooms?
Yes, but from what I have read it is best to cut before August because it sets its blooms for next year now. So if you cut too late those blooms will not bloom next year!

You can cut them, but they usually don't last too long in a vase.

I cut a bunch and they lasted over a week for me. usually they don't last that long.
They also look beautiful when they dry out completly!
