Question on Frozen meat
I have heard and read on packages - forget where exactly - that if you have frozen meat, cook it, you should NOT refreeze it.
Just curious - does anyone know why? Is it a food safety issue or does the food loose flavor being refrozen?

Re: Question on Frozen meat
I am pretty sure I have done that with no ill effects. Food that's been frozen rarely tastes as good as it does when it's freshly prepared but it wasn't bad.

Re: Question on Frozen meat
You can not refreeze raw meat but you can refreeze it after it has been cooked.

Re: Question on Frozen meat
I looked this up recently and it depends on how you thawed it the first time-
if it was thawed correctly (in the fridge), you could refreeze it after a few days.
if it was thawed incorrectly (countertop) you must cook it or throw it out.
