defrosted whole chicken - help!
I took a whole chicken out of the freezer yesterday. This afternoon I rinsed it and prepared it to put in the oven this evening. I put it back in the fridge. When I took it out of the fridge, there was some blood pooled in the cavity and a little in the pan. This is normal right? I just stuck it in the oven, since I didn't want to rinse and reseason it again.... It's ok to eat right?

Re: defrosted whole chicken - help!
Sounds to me like it is not cooked all the way through.
Cooked chicken juices should run clear or have a yellowish color. Red = undercooked.
Put it back in the oven and make sure the internal temp reaches 180 which will kill anything in it. Stick the thermometer in the thickest part of the chicken which is right where the thigh meets the breast.
