airplane carry on question
i have a big straw bag.. doesn't close on top .. it measures 13.5 by 16... do you think i can take it on the plane as like a pocketbook carry on? filled with stuff like a hat, my makeup, books, my camera stuff? i'm afraid they will tell me i can't bring it on and then it doesn't close so i couldn't check it.. here's a pic of what it looks like.. Totally fine as your "personnal" bag carry-on. people bring huge backpacks as their carry-on's!. Just make sure any liquid makeup is in a ziploc bag and under the 4oz size limit- all has to fit into one baggy.

It's totally fine.
The one thing though is that you might need to put the bag on its side to store under your seat so make sure nothing can come flying out (I learned the hard way with an open tote).
