Outside work is so farkin $$$$$$

UGH!!!!

We HAVE to get our retaining wall done on our driveway, it's literally about to collapse and we need to extend our driveway up the side of our house so I can pull my car all the way up to the door when the baby gets here....those two things and $6000 dollars later are going to give me a stroke....the worst part is I have no idea if that's even a lot!!!

I don't know the point of my post, just venting!!!!!

I wish we were DIYer to the outside of our house like we were with the inside but it's impossible!

I will say the guy that came today was extremely nice...he was from DiTamasso Designs...(anyone use them?)

stone retaining walls are big $$$$$$ I don't know the size you need but its not going to come cheap.

Def. shop around, I'm sure lots of companies will give you free price quotes.

Also, if you can wait till the fall, when these companies start slowing down, they may be willing to give you a deeper discount because they are looking for business. But don't wait to long, the ground can't freeze to extend the driveway.

Lastly, ask them the price of the stones (and price out what you want separately). It might work out cheaper for you to go to a place that sells to the public (there is a great place in KP in the dumps, can't remember the name of it) and pay a small fee for delivery, and just have a crew come to do the install, instead of buying it through them (sometimes they charge more for the install though, so you may need to price around)

not sure if this will make you feel better - but we put a bid on a house that needed major retaining wall fixing - the incline was big though - 20 or so feet...we were told by our inspector 50-100K Chat Icon needless to say - we backed out.

Landscaping is our next big project... I am not looking forward to it!! We need everything - total rip out and then everything new put in - including walkways, front and back steps, a patio or deck or something since there is nothing there now... sigh...
