? for those who have an Elchim

HI Ladies,

I have an Elchim for I believe less than 6 months and it just started smoking. This happened to me one other time and the store let me exchange it. I have no luck with hairdryers and bought this one because it is suppose to last for years.

Did anyone else have this problem?

I've had mine a little over a year and no problem so far.

No I never had that problem with my Elchim - I have had it for almost a year.

I would check the outlet, power cord and make sure there's nothing stuck in the hair dryer.

No, no problem at all, yet I have had this with so many other hairdryers. I think it has been 2 years since I bought my Elchim but I often let my hair air dry anyway.

I exchanged for a new one. I don't understand why this happened twice in one year, weird. I make sure I clean out the filter.

Nope- no problems with my Elchim! I would take it back and see what they say. And if they don't help, there's a one year warranty card that came in the box I think. Maybe call Elchim?

I have had mine for exactly a year and no problem so far! I would contact the company if I were you!

Re: ? for those who have an Elchim

Are you using the same outlet each time?

There may be a power surge shorting the dryer.

Try another outlet or plug it into a surge protector.

Call the company though and get another one.

I've had mine for about 3-4 years and never had an issue.

I have been using the same outlet in my room. Maybe I will try another outlet. I did exchange at Harmon's. They were pretty good. I just told them it started smoking and they said ok, get another one.

This is what happened to me - I had to get a new outlet installed and havent had a problem since.
