PLEASE.... DESPERATE Need of Front Landscape Help
We have two front beds in front of our house... it's a ranch.
We are going to go and look for things to plant but we don't want anything too bushy that will grow too big. We don't have the money to hire someone- in the middle of looking at dining room sets and all.... so we are thinking of going to cheap sams and/or home depot.
does any-1 have any suggestions or pictures of bushes/dwarf trees or something.......
thanks so much!

Have you ever checked out Spring Hill Nurseries?
They have complete gardens you can purchase online.

I have purchased plants from them. I have never purchased the gardens however.

are there any new neighborhoods especially those with model homes in your area? they always have great landscaping-it might be worth taking a ride with your camera to get ideas. I take pics inside model homes all the time for ideas.

We are having new landscaping done right now for $2K. We figured with us paying full price on the plants and bushes it would have worked out to almost the same -- and they will be done in 2 days!!

Does the $2K include the design of the garden AND the plants? That seems like a decent price (tho I have NO experience in this dept)

Yes it does -- removal of old stuff, and we went over the design on Saturday - nothing elaborate -- I will fill in with flowers and maybe additional plants if need be in the future. I had a $4,500 estimate and a $4,000 estimate and basically they were all the same plans.

I have been going crazy thinking of ideas too. I am doing true dwarf english boxwoods from home depot. The smallest size are only $3.99 each and only get 3' tall and 3' wide. Then I am adding an ornamental japanese maple and some perennials and annuals.
