we are so upset!!
we owe almost 2K in TAXES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we are so upset by this we really thought since owning the house we actuaslly get some back!!! but NOPE!!! it screws our whole plan up!!!!! we were hoping to use our tax refubnd money to help pay off some of our debt so we can start saving for child..... it could make me cry just thinking abuot how it pushes everything back!!!!

Do you want to take it to another accountant and see if there's anything you've missed. Is your employer taking enough out of your check? Do you need to change your deductions?
Without getting too personal, maybe we can help if we know some other info.

Yes... if you owe 2 grand in taxes and you own a house... there is one of two things happening here.
1 - your accountant screwed up and you don't owe
2 - you are claiming way too much on your W4 and your employer is taking out too little in taxes. I would claim nothing more than Married-0 in this case. If you are claiming married 3 or 4... then that could be the problem.

We owe a few thousand in taxes as well and we thought we were going to be getting a nice chunk back. We own a house and have a child but according to our accountant, the whole AMT thing really got us. She even kept our papers longer than she said she would to come up with a way so we could get around paying, but she said there was no way around it.
