Re: anyone have a recipe for pepper steak?
1 1/2 inch thick beef steak 2-3 bell peppers 2 large onions, thinl sliced 1/2 hot pepper (depends on how "spicy" you are 3 tbs EVOO 1 tbs butter 4-5 cloves garlic 1/2 lb mushrooms (thinly sliced) I only use if I have them 1 tbs flour 3 tbs lesppons of red wine (I always use more) 1 beef bouillion cube salt or soy sauce (to taste) pinch of red pepper (to taste)
Slice uncooked steak into think slcies acrosss grain In a skillet, elt butter in oil. Add onions and saute over med until edges get a little brown. Add whole cloves of garlic and sliced peppers. when garlic cloves have a slightly roast appearnce mash the garlic into the oil using a fork. Remove sauteed veggies with slotted spoon when tender and lightly browned.
Turn heat to high and brown steak; add mushrooms after several minutes. Remove steak to vegegies. Add wine, flour and boulilion scraping pan. Reduce heat to very low and simmer ten minutes. Add a few tablesppons of watedr if gravy too thick; add a little more flour if too thin. Add veggies and steak to gravy and heat through. Season to taste and serve over rice or noodles.
If I have it, I add some finely minced ginger in too...its yummy!

Re: anyone have a recipe for pepper steak?
I got this one from another thread on here and have been making it a lot, it comes out great
have a SUPER easy one....
1 lb steak, cut diagonally... 1 packet of brown gravy mix 1 tbsp of soy sauce (one packet is a tbsp) 1-2 peppers, any color you like-cut into strips a spray of olive oil 3/4 cup water
1. Whisk together water, gravy mix, and soy sauce and let sit.
2. spray the bottom of a big frying pan that has a lid, or you can use a wide bottom sauce pot....anything that has a lid, cook steak on medium until it's brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes...then drain out any fat.
3. Add peppers to frying pan and mix them through, then pour gravy mixture into pan, stir, and cover-let simmer on low for 15-20 minutes. (You can let it simmer longer, and the meat will just get more tender, I discovered this one night when my boyfriend was 15 minutes late for dinner)
serve over rice...I use 90 second brown rice!
eta: I got this off the McCormick's website, they have some really good easy recipes if you're looking to try new stuff.
