for those who did BCP's with IVF
I'm finishing up my 3rd week of bcp's for my first IVF cycle and I'm wondering how long I have to be on these pills for. I thought I remembered people saying they were on it for only about 2 weeks. I'm still waiting for my RE to call me with the rest of my protocol.

My first IVF cycle, I was on them for a long time, but that's because after my last failed IUI in December, I didn't start my IVF cycle until near the end of February. I didn't want to go the Provera route, so I opted to start on BCP until I cycled.
For my 2nd IVF cycle, I think I was on them about 3 weeks.

I think it depends on your doctor. My dr told me I will be on them for only 10 days. My dr schedules all the ER's around the same time so they manipulate the pills so everyone's ER will happen approximatelt the same time.

Lisa, i would maybe just give a call over to the office and ask for Sandra.. just to make sure . i know she told me that within the 2 weeks of being on BC.. she would call me. so not sure if its the same for you.. it can't hurt though!

I was on BCPs for 3 weeks - the last week I also was on Lupron.

I was on them for 11 days, just so my cycle would coincide with the rest of the IVF cycles going on at the practice.

I was on them up to 3 1/2 weeks with Dr B. I went onto a new pack. It all has to do with scheduling I think.

This is the cycle of mine that was cancelled in December. I had become such a champion egg maker that they couldn't adequately suppress me!
