If your DH had 2 or More SA's, different Results.....what was your next step?
So....last month DH's SA came back low and Dr. B said that IVF would be the next step. DH took a 2nd SA test and it came back normal....
Has this happened to anyone and if so, what course of action did your doc take?
I am thinking now maybe we could try IUI before moving on to IVF.

Sorry, I am not in this situation but if I were, I would get a 3rd SA to see which one was the fluke, KWIM? I know a lot of things can affect the SA, like illness and even getting hurt, even weeks before the SA. HTH and GL!

Re: If your DH had 2 or More SA's, different Results.....what was your next step?
I understand your situation. This is what happened to me...
1st SA: morphology - low normal mobility - low count - normal
2nd SA: morphology - low mobility - normal count - low
Dr. Brenner said since the results varied so much, we couldn't say how significant they were but for now they wouldn't change the course of treatment (IUI). He also wanted DH to go to a urologist. He did and the urologist said the results are wacky. He checked him for a bunch of stuff and said he thought he was fine but wanted him to go for a 3rd. He did and we are awaiting the results.
Also, my own research (the urologist actually confirmed) that they hold sperm up to some pretty strict criteria - especially when coming to morphology and mobility. There is no research to prove that an imperfect sperm cannot foster and viable pregnancy. Take everything with a grain of salt! FM me if you want!

Thanks so much! DH does have an appt with a urologist but it's not until 8/13!
I spoke to dr. Braverman tonight and we are going to try IUI this cycle instead to going straight to IVF like we orginally talked about.
