Because I need more to worry about
My pap with the OB showed atypical cells with a negative HPV test.
Dr. Davis said don't worry but I should follow up with the OB about what his plans are to monitor me. He said not to lose sleep over it and when there is a negative HPV test with some abnormal cells it's usually just watched every six months. He said when he sees me next he will do a f/u pap if necessary.
He also said that if I get another abnormal test the OB might want to do a Colposcopy. Sh!t!!!
Come on, really?
Davis did say that I should try on my own one or two cycles before going to IVF again since I got pregnant on my own.
he's not worried..me..I'm at stage 10 on this.
Anyone have this and it turned out to be fine?

Re: Because I need more to worry about
I did have a positive for pre-cervical dysplasia in 1999 and had a colposcopy ASAP after the abnormal pap results. I then had to have the LEEP procedure done. This was obviously 10 years ago and I have heard that there are some alternative treatments now.
When I started seeing an RE his biggest concern was that the LEEP could have caused scarring that could lead to infertility, but thankfully my cervix is 100% healthy.
I hope that you have a more positive outcome.

Re: Because I need more to worry about
OK, yes, me. What don't I have at this point. My first abnormal pap turned up negative for HPV. They watched me and nothing for about 3 years. Then it happened again and I did come up positive for HPV and pre-cancerous cells. I then had cryo surgery for it. In office procedure where they freeze the cells in the cervix. Not a pleasant experience but it was fast. That was about 4 years ago. Knock on wood, but I've been good since. So, I wouldn't worry. Though my cervix sometimes wont co-operate and I think its its from this procedure.

Re: Because I need more to worry about
I had an abnormal pap, went back 3 months later and it was normal. Try not to worry, sometimes these things just iron themselves out

Should I get vaccinated or am I too old for that?

Re: Because I need more to worry about
I'm not sure about the answer to that one, I just know that if I were you, I'd avoid the LEEP procedure if possible. Lots of incompetent cervix issues once that procedure is done, so I would just follow again in another month and ask for another pap to see if the issue resolved itself.

Re: Because I need more to worry about
The fact that they didn't find anything, could also just mean it was absolutely nothing. Something got in the sample that had nothing to do with you etc....
And if there is something at this point the vaccination would be too late. Plus you are happily married, so there's no point to get it. Vaccinations have their own issues to deal with. So, when TTC you really want to stay away from them.
Well, at least it took your mind off your current situation for a few minutes. Though there's got to be a better way than making you freak out.
