Nervous...
I have my HSG tomorrow morning and I am getting really nervous! I keep hearing how painful it is going to be!
I am also kind of nervous to hear what the results will be.....
If anyone has had one, how was it? I am going to take 800mg of Advil, as per my Dr. I hope it helps!

results seem mixed here, mine SUCKED and others said theirs was no big deal
I think its all about the person doing the procedure.
Don't forget to take your antibiotic

The insertion of the speculum was the most painful for me. The test itself wasn't that bad. I took 2 advil about 1/2 hr beforehand.

Mine was so not a big deal, I don't even remember much about it. I remember being embarrassed, b/c they had to really push down on my belly to take the x-rays they needed.
Because they couldn't get a good pic, I had to then have a tubal canulization (sp?). Not the same day, but I had to be in the hospital for it, sedated, while they pretty much rotor-rootered my tubes. Seven that wasn't too bad.
Everyone has different reactions and experiences. You can't worry yourself too much about it.

At least it's something u only have to do 1X.....plus, the results (good or bad) will help move the process along for you. Def take the Advil at least an hour before just to make sure they kick in!

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My cervix was closed pretty tight, and the dr. had to pry it open. It hurt like hell, but was only about 10 seconds of pain. The rest of the test was a breeze.

Where are you having it done and is it your Dr doing it??? I use to do these all the time at work and have had one done myself. I think the worst part is when they inject the xray contrast if it gets injected to fast sometimes it causes pain but mostly cramping. The rest is a quick one once they get the spectulum in and the catheter. Take you advil it will help and bring a pad with you even though they will give you one. Good luck.
