you might get more responses on the parenting or pregnancy board. I rarely check FHF.

Unfortunately , there isn't a ton of traffic on the FHF board. Parenting/PG/TTC and NFR boards are the busiest

... so I assure you noone was deliberately ignoring, most likely they didn't see the post or just didn't have anything to addChat Icon

Re: So Here I am Pouring My heart out to you

Okay as a working mother I will tell you that no matter how tired you are at the end of the work day, you run home like crazy to be with your children. It isn't the quantity of time you spend with them but the quality. My mother has raised both my children while my husband and I work and (1) they learned another language which is wonderful (2) learned that there is more than hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch (3) I am secure in knowing that they are safe, etc.

Honey as long as you check out the day care your child is going to be in..........there isn't anything wrong with that. Children need to be around other children and you're influence will still shine through! Take it from someone who cried herself to sleep because my son called my mother, mommy. But in the grand scheme of things.................I know he loves me!!!!!!!!!! He's mine and not hers and he lets me know that!

Good luck.

Re: So Here I am Pouring My heart out to you

OMG please don't cry. It's the truth though, my kids love me because I'm their mother, not my mother, kwim? I'm the one who takes care of them when they are sick, I'm the one who cuddles with them at night, I'm the one who rewards them for a job well done, I'm the one who they come to when they have a problem. Even though my mother has raised my children while we worked, it is my husband and I that the kids come to when something is wrong or when they are happy. Its amazing how much you learn from them at the dinner table, bowling, going to a movie, have a pedicure and manicure, going to a soccer game, etc.

Please don't cry. I was just trying to let you know that your children will ALWAYS know who the parent is and who the sitter is. Especially when you show them YOUR love for them.

I truly believe in "It takes a village to raise a child." I know someone who has no choice but to work, but she lucked into a fabulous babysitter who has become such a positive person in her daughter's life.

My SIL's two kids go to a great daycare too, and it's been beneficial to them, expecially my nephew. It really helped him out of his shell. He was so very shy, the people in his day care really worked with him.
