Anyone's DH want to start a family and you don't?

It's not that I don't, just not RIGHT NOW.

DH is 8 years older than me and established in his job, so naturally he wants to have kids.

We dated for 4 years before we got engaged, so why do we have to rush now? Also, we rent out our upstairs, so we have literally no room in our "apartment" to put another roll of paper towels, let alone a baby. The extra bedroom is and office and DH's "music room" for his equipment, so that's out.

He says that the baby would sleep in our room for a year anyway........wait a second......now he thinks I am going to sleep with a baby in my room for a year?!?!?!?!?!? No way.

I freaked out and said I was not having any baby until there is a room for him to sleep in BEFORE he is born! He doesn't agree.......

Oh, boy, any advice?

Sorry you are in this dilemma. It just sounds like you are not ready.

The baby can sleep in your room for a little while. In fact, you may want that..maybe not a whole year though.

No real advice here just Chat Icon Chat Icon

The only thing I will say is that you both have to be ready before you have a baby. It is a ton of work. I had no idea until my daughter was born. It is the best thing but exhausting. If you are not ready it can certainly take its toll.

You guys will figure it out. My DH wants baby #2 already and I am not there yet. I know what you are going through.
