Can someone help me understand this...

Dr. B's office said I was covered under NYS Fertility Mandate. The receptionist said that it covers unlimitted IUI's under this mandate but not IVF. Thing is I know when I spoke to my insurance company when we were first starting out they said we had a $20k lifetime max including IUI, IVF, meds etc.
Is everyone covered under this?? Unlimited IUI's sounds good to me even though we might be headed toward IVF. Sorry to sound so confused: MANDATE

Honestly, I would just call the ins directly to get clarification. If they offer their plan in many different states, they may have this lifetime max. Since NYS has a mandate, it may be working to your advantage and the 20K could be all used for IVF.
Any update on this cycle??

oh wow Lisa, i am sorry you are not getting your answers..
but i agree with Shawnna, maybe call your insurance company directly, they can send something over the the office i am sure to state that you are covered for IVF too.

i am currently figuring out my insurance and what it covers for IVF too.. its not fun

From my understanding, there is no $$ amount limit on the IUI's under the mandate, just the female's age of 44. So, the only expense they may have pulled from your max might be meds. That should leave you a good chunk of change for IVF.
