What to make for a BBQ??
So I am throwing my housewarming BBQ at the end of this month and I need some ideas for sides and deserts.
Im estimating about 50 people
We are grilling burgers, dogs and chicken.
I am going to make potato & macaroni salad and coleslaw.
Any other ideas? Im going to need more than this. Recipes are welcome!
TIA!!

Re: What to make for a BBQ??
corn grilled pineapple and peach halves?
another meat idea: cut skirtsteaks into 1/2 thick strips (against the meat grain). Roll into pinwheels, secure with toothpicks, slather in your fav BBQ sauce, and grill....
That, hellman's recipe for potato salad, and corn is pretty much bliss on a plate.

Re: What to make for a BBQ??
Marinate shrimp in a ton of minced garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper and lemon juice for about 45 minutes.. then thread them onto wooden skewers and grill them. When they are cooked you just sprinkle them with some fresh parsley, plate with some lemon wedges and serve them as appetizers. Makes you look like a pro with no effort at all.
Our grilled French cut Lamb chops are the things that ALWAYS get us raves... even from people who swear they don't eat lamb! I marinate them a day ahead in lemon, olive oil, a TON of garlic, a generous amount of rosemary, a bit of lavendar and a pinch of sage with salt and pepper. Once they are good and marinated I simply grill them to medium rare and plate them for snacking. They go SO FAST!
Corn salad is also a big hit for us. Blanch corn in boiling water for about a minute... just enough to get the color to deepen. Take it out and cut the kernals off the cob and throw thm in a bowl. Add diced peppers, crushed basil and chopped red onion. Add apple cider vinegar and a little olive oil. Toss to coat and season with salt and pepper to taste. You may also add some diced tomatoes and/or celery and /or grated carrot - whatever raw veggiea you like - for a little extra color and flavor if you wnat. Just be careful to leave corn as the 'star'.
Cucumber salad - made that morning - is also a nice side for a BBQ.
Baked beans are a good side (and easy to make) for a BBQ.
