Jamaica vacation??
Can anyone recommend a place to stay?
Is it nice there?
Is it worth taking a vacation there?

We stayed in Jamaica for our HM
Check out Couples resorts as well as Sandals -- unbelievable vacations out there with AI luxury.
I think its a nice place to vacation...beautiful beaches and lots of stuff to do.

I think Jamaica can be a good trip, but you have to pick the right resort. I've been there twice for weddings and was not impressed with either hotel. I've stayed at the Breezes Runaway Bay and the Riu Ocho Rios. I honestly wouldn't reccomend either of them.

DH & I went to Jamaica about 7 yrs ago. Although the hotel ,Breezez Montego Bay, wasn't anything special (I wouldn't recommend it) we had a BLAST!
We got a great deal for 7 nights with airfare and it was all inclusive and that's all that mattered to us at the time. We just wanted to drink and drink and drink. For the price we couldn't complain. But we met a couple who paid A LOT more than we did and they weren't happy with the hotel at all.
It was one of the best times we had on vacation. But I'm sure the alcohol had something to do with it

there are some nice AIs there - Couples is a great one (I've heard, never been.) Also, Royal Plantation is supposed to be superb and I believe they have an AI option.

I went to Jamaica for a wedding and loved it. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and it was amazing!!!!

We honeymooned there and loved it! We stayed at Sunset at the Palms in Negril. Check out their website (same name as resort . com)

I've been to Jamaica 4 times and would go again in a heartbeat!
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!
I have been to Ocho Rios and Negril
Ochi IMO was for the party crowds... lots of nightclubs, etc.
Negril is more laid back and remote. that's where we went for our honeymoon (Couples Negril). we just loved it and would def go again.
the Jamaican people are so warm and friendly. they go out of their way to make sure you have a pleasant stay.
I've never been anywhere in the Caribbean as often, for a reason. LOVE Jamaica!

DH and I stayed at Couples Negril and it is right next to Grand Lido. we took many walks up and down the beach and GL looked very nice to us!

We've been to Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios and it was amazing.
We've also been to Sandals Ocho Rios and we're going to Sandals Negril next month. Jamaica is beautiful and like above poster said, they're very welcoming at the resorts.
