AND THEN
i noticed that hershey has a rash under his front legs... like in his armpit area
has anyone experienced this with their pup? im hoping its due to the fact that he went swimming A LOT upstate this past weekend and maybe he just didnt dry that well under there?

Re: hershey has a rash
First off, I'm sorry you're having a rough time!
Second, yes, Brinkley gets a red rash under his arms and on his belly in summer sometimes. Vet gave me Gentocin spray which clears it up quick. He told me to wipe him with alcohol free baby wipes in the sensitive areas if he's been rolling around in grass or whatnot.
I hope this helps! I got the spray from the Vet, but it wasn't that expensive and it will last a while.

Re: hershey has a rash
My pleasure, I think it's so funny, the similarities with Hershey and Brinkley.
He explained that allergies can be food based or environmental. Typically, it's environmental and believe it or not, some dogs are allergic to grass. We did change his food to a limited-ingredient food at the same time to better our chances and I'm happy to say that he hasn't had a problem all winter. So we never bothered with allergy testing. I hope yours is as easy to fix too!
We took Brinkley swimming in Montauk last weekend and besides hosing him off and cleaning his ears, we don't go nuts with bathing. We just rinse him really well to get the residual water and sand off him, that's it. I've read that Lab-like coats really don't need frequent cleaning.
