dh paid me the ultimate insult yesterday
he came into the kitchen as I was making sauce and ravioli's and asked me if I got the sauce from a jar.  
granted, it sucked.
but he wasn't kidding. he really thought that.
and when I tasted it, I couldn't deny how unlike me it was.
I wouldn't even let him take leftovers for lunch.
I don't know what happened. I didn't do it my usual way, but still...geesh!

I wasn't upset that he told me....I was more upset at how badly it came out. I more felt bad that I FED that to him, you know....
being pg has totally messed up my kitchen mojo, but this was just beyond

Had that come from Rob he would have meant it as a compliment.
Boy grew up on condiments used as sauces and foods seasoned primarily with salt and .. well more salt.
But I'm changing him!
Bleme the sauce on the baby. Tell him that carrying his dna in your body is causing your mojo to be a little off.

Oh come on..how bad could it have been?
Tomatoes, onions, garlic, olive oil? How much could you have possibly messed it up.
Don't be so hard on yourself. And sauce from a jar won't poison anyone.

my DH is also spoiled
I made iranian lamb shanks (with tumeric, cinnamon, onions, garlic, allspice) and matching rice (cooked twice, with orange zest, onions, spices, raisins and dates) and he just sighed and said it wasn't as good as usual
Well, we could always have a can of soup or a frozen dinner At least your DH is eating so well that sauce that tastes like it comes from a jar is a letdown for him!

I wouldn't be surprised if my DH had high blood pressure while I was PG. My taste buds were so off and he said everything I made tasted salty, yet to me it was fine.

He IS spoiled. You always make the best sounding food! I want a gourmet spouse! Tell your husband he'd better watch it or you'll reserve your chef skills for someone who appreciates it! (PICK ME PICK ME! )

I'm actually a scientist... I hate to say this, but it IS true... I taught myself cooking at age 13 becuase my mom is such a miserable cook  ... All she fed me as a teen was chinese food and steak. to this day, I still hate both
DH actually DOES appreciate my cooking, but I think I set his 'bar' too high... he got used to perfection  There are some days when my sauce is off, KWIM?
Rojerono, I can't remember what, but you recently posted a meal that sounded amazing... I'm going to have to troll through food posts now
found it... it was the burger thread... you could give bobby flay a run for his money

ouch!!! yea the last time i made mashed potatoes he said the same thing....and they did taste like crap but still!!!!we've all been there hon don't sweat it!!
