Pressure 'down there'...

I've been feeling pressure 'down there', and was wondering if it's all normal. Now, exactly what I feel is the same as that soreness one gets the day after riding a bicycle for the 1st time in a while (no I have no ridden a bike in a while). Anyone else? Is this normal?

I assume it has to do with the baby getting in position, or it gaining weight.

It's all to do with the baby getting in to position and also the stretching of your body preparing for the baby. Hang in there! Chat Icon

*sigh*... Soooooooooooo many changes with our bodies, huh? Makes me wonder, "will it ever be the same again?" Chat Icon

Thanks Kat!

I am 32wks 4dys, and I have been feeling the pressure "down there" for 3 weeks now. And yes, it feels the same as soreness. It hurts when I walk, when I get out of the car and when I go up and down the stairs. It is normal from what I hear. We just have to hang in there.

Phew! So it IS normal, cool. I don't mind the soreness at all, just wondered if I was the only one & why.

Regardless, thanks ladies! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yep, definitely normal. Wait until you are further along...the soreness gets worse. But, it's all worth it Chat Icon

Re: Pressure 'down there'...

I've been feeling the same thing for the past few weeks. I'm now 36.5 weeks. When I went to the doc last week and had my first internal I was sure he would tell me that I was dilated at least 1cm (because of all the pain & pressure). But, NOTHING!! He said the pain is just from my pelvis starting to open up and all the ligaments stretching and doing what they need to do to get ready for the birth.

That definitely makes sense. But does that mean if you get it "early" on, that you'll go into labor earlier? Chat Icon

I thought so, but my doctor didn't indicate that there was any correlation.
