LOL @ "clean"...I can only imagine what you found when you googled..
Anyway I would start out with the basic "static stretching" that will help you become more flexible. Google that and you will find more illustrations.

I think a lot of people don't hold their stretches for at least 45 seconds - the more the better.

i went to a kickboxing studio for a while and one stretch was to sit at the ring post and put a heel to hang over the ring floor (KWIM?) so you were at more than 90 degrees (since your butt was a bit forward from the corner)

and don't bounce!

good luck...I remember a girl in 7th grade didn't make the cheerleading team and she ssaid she stretched every night for the next year and she made it in 8th grade...so doing stretches daily sounds like it helps.

I used to be very flexible as a child but lately not so much. I try to take yoga or pilates at least once a week but still find that these runner legs are very tight! UGH! I stretch every time I run as well but still so tight!

Re: how to become more flexible?... picture fixed

stretching is tough. i have terribly tight hams so i can barely touch my toes. but through yoga and teaching i've learned to hold my leg stretches for around 20 or so minutes each leg. there's no quick way to get to this point except consistant static stretching on each leg
