Things to do in Halifax and St John's
We are going on a cruise next month and the excursions don't look like anything we want to do. Is there anything close to the ports that would be fun for kids?
I was thinking about going to the Public Gardens in Halifax, but was not sure of anything else.

All I know is my borther went there for his honeymoon and it was cooooold. Just be prepared!

Agreed! We took a cruise in mid-May and it was much colder than we expected. We were barely able to use our balcony.
On one of those stops we did a bike tour (not sure if kids were allowed), and on the other we did a pub crawl. The pub crawl was a LOT of fun, even if you didn't drink - lots of singing and music.

we did that cruise several years ago...
we went to peggy's cove, to the reversing river (i forget it's real name)
we enjoyed st. john better.
don't take a bus tour through the ship.
there will be tons of taxis you can hire for a private tour--that was much better!

There is a lot of Titanic stuff in Halifax. Kinda cool.
And like other posters said - its chilly! We went on the cruise the end of last June.
