do you send a ty to your contractors
I told dh we should send ty cards to all the contractors who helped build our home for a job well done, he said no, we thanked them verbally and handed them lg. checks. what is your thought, I think regardless of a verbal ty, we should hand write a nice note.

We didn't and the thought never crossed my mind...
If you want to write them one, just do it. I'm sure they'll appreciate it. Why do you need DHs permission?

I have never used a contractor, and probably wouldn't think to write a note, but I did notice a contaractors office near me that had thank you notes in the window, so people do send them, and it seems that the contractors appreciated & uses it as as sort of advertising/references.

On the last official day of work on my project, I bought all the guys lunch. They did an awesome job, they were with us for 3-4 months, and I plan on having them back again next year.

I do not need his permission, I just ran it by him while I was thinking about it. and of course he thinks I am crazy,

that is a good idea, they will be done at our place on Monday, are contractors started last August and finished what they could before winter.

Yeah - I know how that is.  Like "why did I even tell you?!?"
I think it's a really nice gesture. I'm sure they would really appreciate it!
eta: The lunch idea is a great idea too! Because then the guys that actually worked on the job would be thanked - not just a card hanging in the office...
