Re: Husband On Strike

I kind of feel bad for him. I agree that bonding with your kids is important, but you have to maintain a healthy relationship with your spouse as well. I'm also not a fan of co-sleeping with your kids.

I agree, but I think he should discuss it with his wife instead of creating a website about it.

Re: Husband On Strike

I feel really sad for this guy. All he wants is for his wife to pay more attention to him and to have the kids sleep in their own beds. IMHO, he is not being unreasonable. His wife better wake up and realize that the more she ignores her husband, the more isolated he will feel. I mean at least he is giving her a wake up call.
How can you ignore your hubby like that? He is not going to stick around very long if he is being ignored and his wife is not being intimate with him.
My mom did this to my dad for years and finally he had enough and left her for another woman.
I don't get it, is her husband so disposable to her that he is a sperm donor, just used for her to have kids? I mean, what is going through this woman's mind???? Then, of course when he leaves, she will be the "victim". Chat Icon

He sounds like a good man to me, trying in desperation to connect with his wife, very sad.

Re: Husband On Strike

That is the perfect example of what some women do after they have kids. I was watching Oprah one time and she said this should the order of importance in your life:

Yourself
Your Husband
Your Kids

It sounds bad but you need to love yourself first before you can love someone else and your dh was there from the beginning and will be there in the end after the kids leave so you need to have an on-going relationship with him. Some women are soooo obsessed with raising their kids that they lose sight of everything else AND in the end, lose their husband.
Very sad.

I could not agree with you more.
I saw this play out in my house for years growing up.
Ladies, I implore you, don't ignore your husbands!!! Make the time for date nights and give them a hug and kiss for no reason, just like you used to went you were dating.
Don't look at all the things he is not doing and look at who he is as a person.
After all, YOU picked HIM! Chat Icon

Exactly. That cute baby is going to grow up and leave you and then you will have a stranger living with you that you ignored for 18 years.
