Gonal-F
Soooo I am reduced to begging... ...again.
The Gonal-F pens are $$$$ and we don't have insurance coverage. I am looking to buy any left-over meds from anyone who doesn't need them anymore, for whatever reason.
I also need Menopur, E2, Ganirelex, HCG and Lovenox.... but they aren't quite as crazy price-wise.
And thank you to one of the IF graduates who has been so generous in donating her Lupron!!!

Re: Gonal-F
E2 is Estradiol, right?
You should check with your insurance.
Our IVF meds weren't covered at all but Estradiol is because it's not specifically an "only-IF" kind of drug. We just had to pay a $5 copay at CVS!

I know the Lovenox is about $30/dose.. I had to buy 2 boxes out of pocket. I think you can switch to Heparin 2x a day instead of Lovenox and it is cheaper.

I think I can ge the Lovenox through my insurance.....but no more Heparin because there was a problem with some of the doses coming from the supplier out of China -- so I think most Drs are now recommending Lovenox only.
Thank you so much -- I will FM everyone privatley...!

Re: Gonal-F
If you have medical insurance then you should be covered for Lovenox. Your doctor can write a letter of medical necessity if they deny you. The problems with heparin are there were contaminated vials coming out of China that was killing people. And it can lead to osteoporosis. The baby will drain you of calcium to begin with and Heparin does it as well. if I was denied for my Lovenox then my doctor was going to write the letter of medical necessity stating that I have a family history of osteoporosis and have to go on Lovenox not Heparin. There is talk that Lovenox can affect your bones as well but not as badly as Heparin. I have to get a bone density test done when I am done having kids since I am on Lovenox for each pregnancy. I have no infertility coverage but I get my Lovenox for $70 a month (cheap compared to no insurance). If I have any left over when I am done I will gladly donate but it won't be for a few months Good luck

Re: Gonal-F
Oops, I lied in my FM- I do have the Gonal F, not follisum (you'd think I would know what I was taking!) I have 4 pens, they're yours if this is what you need

Re: Gonal-F
Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart -- I see that this board is full of generous and empathetic people just as it was almost 4 years ago when I first discovered my IF issues.
I am picking up some meds this weekend. I'll see what I have, try to get the exact protocol from my RE, and then FM if we still need anything.
And obviously, anything I do wind up with extra would be returned, or donated to whoever needs them.
You are a wonderful group of ladies!!
