A couple Keurig questions...

My DH, who never has a preference with this kind of stuff, is in love the the Keurig since seeing it in action at his friend's house. I thought I would get him one for Father's day but have a few Q's

1) What is the difference between a B60 and B66? They seem very similar but I can't tell.

2) This one can make the 3 diff size cups of coffee - can you use the same K cup for each different size? If so, isnt' the largest size a weaker cup of coffee?

3) Lastly, I saw on ebay the B66 with 90 K cups and a reusable filter for $160 (free shipping) is this a good price?

TIA

Re: A couple Keurig questions...

I can only answer question #2, because we have one at work. Ours has 3 settings, 4 oz., 6 oz and 8 oz. You put the same cup in for all of them, and the strength of the coffee depends on the size you choose. So, yes, the largest size is the weakest cup of coffee, but it is probably average in strength - it's the setting I usually use. I tried the 6 oz one and it was good, but a little strong, I think the 4 oz would be too strong for me for a regular cup of coffee.

I bought one for my home. I don't know what model it was, but I picked it up at Costco and it's the version that has the LED display and you can set the temperature and timer. I think I paid around $120. I have used both the medium setting and the large setting for coffee and I really don't notice too much of a difference in taste. To make a long story short - I love the machine and I think it's one of the best purchases I made!

PS: K Cups are expensive. Shop around - you should be able to get them for as low as 50 cents a cup.

We have two B-60's at work, they take a beating... an office of 30 people, these things have lasted for over two years.... and they get some really really heavy use.

I have a the other model at home, it's great too. I use the "extra bold" K-cups and it comes out just right at the large setting. They make a variety of coffee's w/ varying strength, so if you find that a Large cup is too weak you can get stronger coffee and it will be fine. I never really think the coffee is weak no matter what setting I put it on.

BWt we get our coffee mostly at coffeewiz.com and sometimes @ coffeecow.com much cheaper.. considering I tack on my personal orders w/ the work orders so we get free shipping. Ebay is good for K-cups too...

I love the Kurieg machines... good coffee and very durable..

Re: A couple Keurig questions...

We have one and we love it. DH uses it every day. I think the price for the B66 is a pretty good price. When I bought ours, which I think was the B60, it was the middle model that I bought, the B66 was around $199 at the time. Shop around a little online at major stores to see if the price is good or not. They have lots of different flavors. You can buy k-cups at BBB also. Enjoy! Chat Icon

Re: A couple Keurig questions...

I'm not sure which model I have but your assumption about the sizes vs strength is correct. I usually buy the medium blend K-cups and use the 6oz setting.

I order my K-cups from Amazon.com. Sometimes if I forget to order, I'll get it at Target.

It's the best gift my DH ever brought me.... I love it!

I have the one cup and the thing I like is that you can use your own coffee and don't have to purchase the kcups all the time...you remove the filter and use this grey one. I have so much DD coffee that I use this all the time. Target used to have it and you can get it online.

Re: A couple Keurig questions...

I have the one from Costco and love it. I am a big coffee drinker and in order to use the largest setting (it makes 1 mug) I find that I need to use the extra bold otherwise it is too weak for my taste. If you get it at BJ's or Costco, it should come with some k-cups so that you can try a few different ones.

I get the k-cups (newmans own extra bold) at either bj's or Costco for about 40 cents a cup.

I do have the filter where you can put your own coffee in it, but have found that when I use my regular coffee for it it is too weak on the largest setting.

I really do love it though!

We have a B60 at home and use it every day. We bought the reusable filter in case we wanted to put our own beans in, but we have yet to use it. You can buy k-cups at BBB using their 20% off coupons and get them under .50 a cup! Personally, the k-cup selection online is better.

You have to take a look at the cup sizes for each of the machines you are looking at. I can tell you that the B66's large cup isn't so large! I have the B70 and the large cup is enough to almost fill my travel mug. However, the larger the cup, the weaker the coffee. You use the same pod for small, medium or large. There are different coffee brews such as light, medium, bold and extra bold, so that's how you alter the strength of your coffee. I LOVE my coffee maker and wouldn't trade it for any other! I'd look at BBB before ordering online. You can use a 20% off coupon when the item is on sale and probably get a better deal. : )

Re: A couple Keurig questions...

Some better help towards your 3rd question:

The B70 is 199.99 at BBB, which will brew a bigger cup than the B66. If you use a 20% off coupon, you can save $40.00 and get it for 159.99 plus tax. I think that's more worth it than the $160.00 from online, for the smaller brewer. You also get a starter multipack of coffee for free with it!
