Rome with toddler question

I know that woman have to have their arms covered when you go into churches. Do toddler have to have their arms covered too? I'm bring tanktops and sleeveless sundresses for DD and not sure if I should bring something to cover her arms.

Re: Rome with toddler question

I'm not certain (since I've never traveled to Italy with a child) but I think I read in some of the tour/guide books that some churches are strict and the rules apply to children as well. If you have any books, try taking a look and see. When I get home, I can check mine and see if it gives any info.

I would probably bring a little cardigan/sweater with you, just in case. Better to be safe than sorry.

No one has to have their arms covered, however EVERYONE has to have their shoulders and knees covered - including children. Some places are lenient, but certain churches like at the Vatican are very strict.

Tank tops and spaghetti strap clothing must be covered with a sweater, shawl, anything. And dresses/skirts/shorts must be long enough to completely cover your knees.

HTH!

also, although it's hot outside, generally the internal temps of many churches and cathedrals are considerably lower b/c of the stones they are made out of.

you'll want to have a little sweater or cardy for your child anyway. just pack one, to be on the safe side. she won't overheat.

have a GREAT time!!!!!
