Travel to DR

My DH said something to me the other night that we have to pay a fee to enter the country....what exactly is this? Can credit card be used? And what in the world is this fee for?

Re: Travel to DR

I don't know specifically about the DR but most countries have a fee. Usually it's included in your plane ticket price. It's minimal - Like $20 a person. The only reason I know about the fee is becasue DH works for the airlines and we fly for free or disounted and none of those fees are included for us. We had to pay it when we went to leave the country and always had to pay it in cash too. I would check with your airline or travel agent. It's probably included in what you've already paid.

This is what my TA just informed me:

"When you enter you will get a card which you will need to give them back when you depart. IT was $10.00 PP . They informed me to have $40 in reach just in case..."

Yes...this is the case.

I thought it was paid when you leave not when you arrive.

$10.00 per person -- right when you arrive to the airport. the departure fee is usually included in the price of your plane ticket.

i know a lot of sights say you have to keep the card---but i swear i thought we handed it right back at the airport when we arrived. i could be wrong.

Yep, we handed it right back when we arrived at the airport. It's $10 like the others said and I'm pretty sure you have to pay it in cash.

It was 10$ and as I was checking in at the airport to go there I was told we can purchase the card there. When we landed and entered the airport we had to hand over the card. If you didn't buy one then you needed to do so there on the spot
