I know exactly what you're talking about, but I am having trouble remembering the name. Was it Portofino??

The Village Way is (or was) near there. It was a casual bar and restaurant with tables outside near the shopping area.

Re: Help me figure out a restauraunt in Port Jeff
that building has changed hands numerous times... It has finally been taken over by 5th season.... a very highly zagat-rated restaurant that once was in greenport.... Extremely good food, but a bit pricier than the prior places.
the prior restaurants had more of a friday's style menu..... I highly recommend 5th season
(a similar type place is that restaurant on the west side of main street a 1/2 block from the harbor.... forgot the name of it, but it looks like a boat....)
