I either ignore them, or in one case, I actually cut someone out of my life. I couldnt take how he'd always try to bring me down. If I did something well, it was alwas because I had some advantage, if he didn't do well, the world was against him. I couldn't take his negativity anymore, so I kicked him to the curb. It was difficult, but my life is so much better for it. It's like a weight has been lifted. It really was dragging me down.

I know someone like that -- they are generally only happy when they can say they are better off in any way then others. Sometimes I tell her she's being ridiculous, other times I ignore it and I am sure I told her to knock it off a few times.

Unfortunately I do. Sometimes I try to empathize with their situation and justify why they do what they do but the reality is that they are miserable with themselves and just can't be happy living their own life and appreciating the blessings that have been given to them. I feel bad for these people.

OMG. A girl I work with. She does it to everyone. Anything that happened to you it happened to her 20x's worse Soooo annoying!

thank goodness..NO...or if I do, I dont associate with them enough for it to matter.
My SIL is sometimes liek that, but it comes and goes so its bareable...

i know of one...
she used to ALWAYS say little comments about
How other people "like" me
and how she always looks bad
got really annoying...
and I ENDED that friendship
