Ryan is in his crib whining, and while he is doing so, he is saying ma-ma, ma-ma....
Is he just mumbling words, or can I be excited and say he said ma-ma???

I think it's just babble..they can't really connect a meaning to it yet. But it does sound cute and I think they know how to get to us

So funny, because Christopher only "says" Ma-ma when he's crying/whining. He "says" Da-da when he's happy and babbling. I can't wait until he associates the word with me.

Yes, it counts in my personal opinion. They start to say it for reaction. Lauren only said mommy when she really needed me. Now, it's mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy and I love every second of it!

You definitely should be excited. Once he sees your reaction, it'll only be a matter of time before he associates ma-ma with his Mama.
