What a kick in the stomach
On Mother's Day, I found out my 21 yr old nephew and his 18 yr. old girlfriend are having a baby.....5 months along. Hubby forgot to tell me. All of a sudden, MIL brings out sono pictures, well I didn't know what to do. My DH must have seen my face, because he was tongue tied (a first). Of course, this was unplanned and no one holds a job. Was such a shock. I can't even feel happy about it.
I was fine about Mother's Day and not having my own yet, but what an emotional day this turned out to be. DH and I discussed SOOOOO much on the way to MIL and back home. So many bottled up feelings came out and old wounds. I cried so friggin much. None of my friends or family know we decided to have a kid at my ripe age of 44 so you ladies are the only ones I share with. SOrry for dumping.
But, I feel much better. Maybe this was all needed....a good deep cry. Not the first and I am sure not the last, but it was clensing. Now, I have to deal with the baby showers. Four women I work with are also pregnant.....when will I have mine? This is the first time in my life that I am really being selfish and I can't stand it. Hope everyone else's day was better than mine. Never thought I would wish for Monday to come.

Re: What a kick in the stomach
Not much we can do about other people getting things so easy. Though it sounds like things wont be so easy for them, does it?
A week after I had my m/c I found out my DH's cousin (at the time 17) had a baby. She supposedly didn't know about it but we were all at a family function and she kept her jacket on the whole time. I was so numb and confused over it. Things are no so easy for her. She wanted to put the baby up for adoption and her Aunt begged her not to.
It all sucks. I just think after 25 it all went so fast and then bammmmm your in your 40's. And yet you don't feel 40's but your body is telling you you are. It SUCKS!!!!!!
I'm sorry for your shock. And I think its always good to get feelings out. And sometimes having a good cry is what you need.
Verbal hug!!!!

Re: What a kick in the stomach
I'm so sorry! I know the feeling... my DH's 18 year old cousin got his 17 year old ex-GF pregnant and they had their baby... all within the time we've been trying. It's so hard to see them at holidays because we wish WE had the baby! We're the ones who are ready, right??
