Should I take an HPT?
I was goign to test tomorrow, but when they put me on the progesterone, they said to come in for a blood test on Monday. I had the IUI done on CD12 and tomorrow qwill be (13DPO) CD25.
I was just wondering why they want me to come in for a blood test as opposed to taking an HPT. I know the Porg. won't affet the results, just wondering why.
Anyway, thanks ladies.

Yes, you'll get a bfp on and hpt, but a blood test will tell you your hcg levels which measures the pg hormone in your body.

I think most RE's do blood tests to check the beta levels. If you get a positive HPT and don't know your levels, you could get your hopes up and it will turn out to be a chemical. That's just one reason. They also want to check for doubling betas to determine viability and also progesterone and estrogen levels.

You can test before your beta if you want to.. or just test the morning of if you'd rather get results yourself instead of waiting for that phonecall...

my RE really advised me not to take a HPT.. so i listened and just waited for the Beta... i will do the same for this month too
