Zwieback Toasts....
Are the WORST!! I gave one to Julia for the first time before, and I figured she wouldnt have a problem with it since they are so hard.....well she had it in her mouth only a few seconds when a huge piece comes off and she starts to gag, I almost had a heart attack! Thankgod I was able to get it out. NEVER AGAIN!!

Re: Zwieback Toasts....
How old is she? I gave them to Andrew at about 8 months and he did ok with them, he sucked on them until he got down to the end, then I had to take it away because it was too small and a chocking hazard.
I am glad she is ok.

Andrew gags on the puffs. I don't think he likes how they sit on his tongue. He didn't do well with the Zwieback either b/c he would chomp off a piece and then semi-choke on it.

Re: Zwieback Toasts....
Well my MIL and my mom said to get them for her, so she can get use to eating food and it will keep her occupied when we are out, so I got them. Never will again though!
She is 8 1/2 months, so I figured she could handle eating them.
I have the gerber puffs which she loves, and I never had a problem with them, so I will stick with those.
I bought that net thing u can put food in a fruits so they wont choke, I'm going to start using that! Sooo scary!
This is the net thing, its great my sister used it with her kids. You can put foods and fruits in them. Here is a pic, I got it at BBB. I should of put the toast in it, but I didnt think I was going to have a problem. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Zwieback Toasts....
I got the one's that are shaped like bananas, with a banana flavor. I tried one and they're really soft. I gave Jared the biter ones and he choked on them.

I think most babies are OK with them. No harm in trying them out, just watch carefully.

Re: Zwieback Toasts....
I tried the bitter biscuits with Emily because she constantly chews on things and I thought she might like them and she instantly broke a piece off so I'm hiding them until she's older.
We have that mesh thing but haven't used it yet.

Re: Zwieback Toasts....
I've never tried the toasts, we use the Gerber bitter biscuits and Nate has never had any gagging issues with them.
He just plays with the Gerber puffs by moving his hand back and forth so they fly off the table. Then he laughs when the dog eats them. He will eat the Gerber wagon wheels without any problem also.
