DH ****** me off last night!

He must have had a bad day yesterday and decided to take it out on me. I’m sorry but the last thing you want to do is get an attitude with a 7 month old pregnant woman.

We went to pick up the favors for the baby shower that will be held this Sunday and it started there. He asked if we could go another day because he was too tired to go and was starving, but we really couldn’t go another day because I am pretty much busy the rest of the week getting things done for the shower.

Now, we usually have dinner at my mom’s a couple of nights a week , she lives next door to us. We do eat at home too. So I had spoken to my mom during the day and she told me what she was making (one of my favorite dishes). So while we were waiting for the favors at the store he keeps complaining that he was hungry and had to eat right away that he couldn’t wait for my mom to finish preparing. The thing is that he didn’t eat much all day, (not my problem). My mom is not a fast food restaurant where your order will be ready in 5 mins. I told him that if he was starving to go buy a pizza on our way home. At this point I was really starting to get aggravated with his attitude. Then we’re in the car and he is still going on and on! What ****** me off is when he said that he wished that I had checked with him first before I made the dinner plans! In the 3 years we’ve been married I’ve never had to do that, now all of a sudden he wished I had done that! And when am I supposed to do that? While he’s in school teaching? We do speak but by the time he calls me dinner plans are already made. This is all because he had to eat at that moment, otherwise he wouldn’t have said what he did. Usually when he calls he just asks what we’re doing for dinner with the plans already made, I’ve never had to check with him first.

So I just kept my mouth shut and ignored him for the rest of the ride home. So then he tries to be all nice and tries to make regular conversation with me, but I was not in the mood, so I just answered “uh hmm” to everything he said. The best is when he asked what I wanted to do for dinner tomorrow night(meaning today) before we go to Lamaze. My answer was the best, I was like “I don’t know, I’m not making anymore plans for dinner”. And then he has the nerve to say “Now you’re gonna have an attitude for the rest of the night”… Can you believe that! He’s the one acting like a 2 year old and I’m the one with an attitude?

He finally calmed down later in the evening. He didn’t apologize for his behavior but I can tell he felt bad because when I was attaching my thank you notes to the favors he pitched in and helped.

Men! Sorry for the TMI. I just needed to vent.

Most men get really crabby when they're hungry - and they act like little bratty little boys. I've learned, when DH gets really hungry, to just let his comments slide and give him some kind of snack to hold him over until dinner. If his stomach isnt growling, he's a happy guy.

Oh my God do they ever get crabby! How do you not eat during the day! He gets lunch breaks.

I know, Dh does this too - sometimes he doesnt eat. I try to make him keep stuff in his car to snack on. If we have to go out right after work, I make him have a snack quick and then we go. I cant stand when he gets crabby and hungry. Men can be babies!

Re: DH ****** me off last night!

Please mine is the worse when he's hungry! OMG worse than a 2 year old! He gets very anxious.

The best is he'll say it's because he has a horrible eating schedule. So fix it dammit! We have cold cuts in the house, do you think he'd make a sandwich for work? no of course not.
