Sad situation for all involved.
I'm glad the kids are safe. I'm going to bet on some kind of abuse defense (either physical abuse of the mom or sexual abuse of the daugthers).

I was going to post the same question. In all honesty, the fact that the police are not releasing the motive is somewhat indicative that there must be abuse therefore, they are trying to protect the children by keeping that private. JMO. Sad.

That was my first thought as well. Police said that she told them her motive but they haven't released it yet. If it is due to abuse maybe they are looking for more potential victims
