Any good decorators around?

I'm horrible at decorating. So far I've picked a color for my bedroom (BM Revere Pewter - ). It's a very small room. I'm looking for help with window coverings. DH just put up molding around the windows. Unfortunately with these windows nothing can be mounted inside the window frame. Curtains, blinds, sheers beneath, anything that will get some privacy from our old backyard neighbor.

I have a $250 gift cert to use at Pottery Barn, but am open to anything that will get my window covered.

Do I just go with white??

I'm so depressed. I **** at this stuff.Chat Icon

Re: Any good decorators around?

do you have a pic of the room- what color is your furniture, bedding and what type of flooring do you have? what is the measurement height wise from ceiling to window and then from window to floor?

oh forgot most importantly what is your style?

Bed is dark iron, bedspread is white, walls are a light pewter/tan? looking color. The website is in Flash Media & I can't find a swatch online.Chat Icon Floors are wood.

Style - I have none, that's why I'm asking. If it were up to me I'd just order a Pottery Barn or Crate & Barrel house.

Re: Any good decorators around?

I would go with something light for the windows to keep the room looking bright - perhaps a white to match the bedspread....

What about one of these PB Roman Shades

Or would pulling it open allow your neighbor to see too much?

Glad to help!

What about this for your bedroom? NEWPORT STRIPE VOILE DRAPE I like that it will bring some color into the room, but not in an obnoxious way. I'd hang these on the ends of a curtain rod and put a sheer or 2 in the middle. That should keep it private. Your neighbor might see some shadows but that's it.

And don't say you are bad at decorating! Your room sounds really nice! I love iron beds, so pretty.
