No, he didnt. It turns out that that was a blessing in disguise because the 1st phase of the job turned out to be a total nightmare!!

I know with Citibank if the amt is over $1000
$100 - Immediately upon Deposit
next $400 - on 3rd or 4th business day
remaining balance - on 5th business day
Just call the bank or customer service to see their deposit policy.

Its not a check coming to us exactly... DH is working for a contractor who is getting a large check from a person who in turn is going to give us a check and I got the line todady that they got the check and are waiting for it to clear... she said 10 days and I find it hard to believe that it takes that long!

Depends on the bank and the amount. We use Wachovia and my parents use WaMu. When they send us a check it usually takes about 2 - 3 days to clear.
The bank may have told you 10 days to ensure it fully clears. Like someone posted earlier $100 immediatly upon deposit, up to $400 a few days later, etc....
If you include weekends and holidays you could be looking at almost 10 days. But it all depends on amount and the bank

Yes when we get large checks at work from out of state only a small portion is available right away, the rest clears in about a week.
