Re: STAR PROGRAM ??
I believe they are doing away with STAR, but I got paperwork to fill out from the Town when I signed up.

They're doing away with the STAR rebate check, but they still have STAR for property tax/school tax discount.
Just contact your local town hall and get the application from the assessor's office.

Re: STAR PROGRAM ??
I am curious as well.
We just moved into Nassau county last Sept and applied for the star program at the Town Hall.
As far as I knew this was a discount on your property and school taxes.
Was there something seperate that was also a rebate check?
I didn't even know about that.

Yes, there was a rebate check that was mailed in August to homeowner's. However, due to the recession and the state budget (or lack thereof), Patterson did away with the rebate check.
