Lots of Eye Ooogies...
For weeks now Emily's left eye has been crusty. Now it's getting worse --- brown/green crust and it's a constant thing, not just when she wakes up.
She had a lot of eye crust when she was little and they said it was clogged tear ducts but she's 5.5 months old now and I don't know if it's the same thing or something that warrants a trip to the pediatrician.

Yup call the pediatrician. Don't mess around with blocked tear ducts, particularly if you suspect on infection.
It's probably an old school screwup, but my SIL only has partial site in one of her eyes due to a blocked tear duct when she was an infant.

It could be pink eye too, which is very common. The "good" thing about that is anytime my kids had it, the drops they prescribe clear it up really quick. I'd bring her in.

Katie has green gook all the time- I hate it!
The ped said it is blocked tear ducts and they don't do anything about it until she is a year old.

THis is what I was told by the doctor also but it went away for the longest time. It has only come back recently now and meanwhile it was gone for the longest time. I am hoping that is all that it is. DH is going to try and leave work early tomorrow night to take her to the DR and just make sure.

Steven has a blocked tear duct also. DR told us if it's not gone by 6 months ( which is Sat!) he will have to have a procedure to unblock it. But she also said if the gook comes out green than it's infected and have to call her immediately!
