when to take metaformin? night or day
my dr. said take one a day with breakfast but im nervous about taking it in the morning b/c of the stomach side effects i've been reading about...at night im home so its easier "to go"
just wondering if it needs to be taken in the morning...

I never took all my pills together because it upset my stomach, so I took one with breakfast, and then I would take my other two before bed at night.

I take them at night...
Dr. B suggested to start with 1 500mg pill at night for one week.. then add the 2nd one the next week at night, and then the 3rd week take all three (i'm at 1500mg..)

I am on 1500mg and I take one before each meal....or sometimes if I forget at lunch I will double up at dinner.

i was on 2000mg metformin and would take 2 pills in the morning and 2 pills at night.

ALWAYS ALWAYS at night. That way you are resting. It still hits me in the morning post-coffee but I would hate to be on the train to work and have it hit me then if you take it in the morning!

For me it doesn't matter, still had the nasty GI side effects. But now that I am on ER version, i take them at night just b/c it's easier for me to remember then when I'm rushing around in the am!

I always took it at night with a little milk and I was quite regular every morning! That worked for me!
