Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
what did you do with your old clothes?
I am so scared to get rid of my old clothes even though they are HUGE on me
I feel like if I get rid of it all....I will gain the weight back
is this normal? or am I crazy?

I gave all my clothes away. Actually, I did start to gain weight but the fact the my pants were getting tight is what made me get strict again.
If you don't want to give them away just yet, why don't you pack them away so it's not so easy to get to.

that's another thought- if I give them all away- then I will have more motivation to stay on track

Are they clothes you LOVE and spent good money on? I'd get anything altered if possible. The rest I'd give to good will!!!

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
I lost 22lbs when I went through my divorce and I wasn't overweight when that happened. So over the following 2 years the weight crept back on. I am still a little under but I was glad I still had a lot of my old stuff to still wear.
I recently just got rid of all the skinny clothes...it was driving me crazy that I couldn't wear that stuff and loved a lot of it.
You should keep the things you love, tailor some to fit you now and get rid of the stuff you won't miss.

I also agree with this. Save some... Just in case.

I actually saved them and packed them away but I think I will give them away since I never want to be that size again

I got rid of everything more than one size above what I am now...and that is currently boxed in the basement to hopefully never use again

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
I lost 30 lbs about 4 years ago and I got rid of all my clothes. I only have the size I wear now. And you know what? If they get tight, then it motivates me to keep myself in check. I say get rid of them and the comfort. It will keep you in the mindset that this is your new size.

Everything got thrown out or donated. I feel like keeping them would have been a safety blanket and made me less disciplined about keeping the weight off.

I gradually got rid of everything - I donated most of it.
I held on to some pieces longer than others - I wanted to verify that the weight would stay off.

I got rid of it. I even got rid of the sizes that I never thought would fit in but now are too big. I only have the size that fits me now.

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
i was the opposite and saved to motivate but since you don't want to be motivated to gain, i vote for donate most and save your favs and have them altered.
when i gained weight, i put all my 'skinny' clothes in the closet. slowly, i started taking them back out as i started losing.

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
They're gone baby gone. I never want to have to buy a larger sizes than what I have. That's why I got rid of it all so that I don't have that option

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
I kept all of them... luckily for me, since I gained all the weight back (I got way too skinny at the time so it wasn't a bad thing to regain) but the annoying thing is now I have clothes in all these different sizes. I think if I lost a lot of weight again I'd get rid of the bigger clothes this time.

I got rid of them all and just last night I went through my old clothes from my so called smaller days and just put them in a bag to be donated because them too were too big

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
Years ago I lost all my weight - I went from a size 12-14 to a 4-6. I held onto my big clothes for years, and then got rid of them when I saw that weight was never coming back.
The only time I wished I had them was right after having Cailen, I was a size 8-10, but the big clothes would have been nice to not squeeze into, but now I am back again....
If anything, I was a size 2 for a while (I taught 5 fitness classes a day!) and held onto THOSE clothes. I got rid of them because I knew I was never going to be that size again - I don't have time to work out like that again, and when I do, I will want new clothes anyway!!!

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
I kept mine in a box under my bed for years, thinking that maybe someday I'd need them again. I finally gave them away to Goodwill when I moved.

Re: Girls who lost more then 2 sizes....
I am going to finally go thru them all this weekend
I am going to keep some that can be altered if I love them
sell some on ebay- already sold some jeans
and donate what I can't sell- non-name brand etc
I am going to keep jeans in 1 size up- b/c they still kind of fit ok - but I have jeans from 26-29 - I will keep 26 and 27
none of my dress pants fit- except for a few pairs that used to be tight- they might all just have to go- I don't really dress for work anymore- so I don't need them
and I only have 1 closet right now- so I don't have room to store clothes that are huge on me!
