Southern California
Thinking of taking a trip to southern California (maybe San Diego area) but not really sure what to do, what to see, where to stay. We're definitely looking for some sun and beach but also want to know what else the area has to offer.
Anyone that's been, have any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks.

San Diego is a beautiful area. Lots of great restaurants and shops and most importantly the Zoo!
I have been there for vacation in a long time so I am not 100% on other things to do -- Last time I was there was for business so we didn't get out much.

San Diego definitely has sun & beaches, as well as nightlife & great restaurants & shopping. There's Old Town for historical sightseeing, Balboa Park and the San Diego zoo, the La Jolla cliffs & "Children's Pool" where all the seals hang out, Sea World, and if you have kids & want to drive further out, Legoland and the San Diego Wild Animal Park are not too far away.
