Maybe instead of slimfast try having cereal..
Cereal is 2 points
coffee with creamer -2 points
banana-2 points.

For lunch
Try having a big salad or just a sandwich . Have a snack with it and drink "Lots' of water during the day.. No soda..

Dinner whatever you and dh want.

Try eating small meals during the day and mix whole wheat/ multigrain into your plan.

Now that the weather is getting warmer 'during the week" try walking for an hour and walk on "big" hills, do you have the biggest losers dvd's, I have three of them, The jillian michaels 30 day shred,weight loss yoga, Tae bo (Billy blanks) or I do my wiifit... It sounds to me like you're doing a good job... your eating & workouts look good... I think 3-4 pounds in 3 weeks is AWESOME progress actually!!!

I have 2 suggestions for you.

Add more protein to your diet. From the looks of it, you're not eating nearly enough and you should defintely have protein in the morning. Greek yogurt is a great option.

If you're looking to lose more than a pound a week, 30 min of cardio is not enough, you need to go at least an hour and make sure you are at about 65-70% of your max heart rate. That is probably the most important thing. If you're out of that zone, you're not going to burn enough fat.
To find that you take 220, subtract your age, and then take 65% of that number. Usually 135-150 is a good general range.

try some spin classes at the gym, i'm a huge fan, dropped nearly 12 pounds with the help of them.

also, eat a bigger breakfast - do you like egg whites? or a whole wheat english muffin with a little bit of peanut butter and some yogurt.

You should be eating breakfast!!!!! Coffe and slim fast does not count. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I don't think you are eating enough..You should be eating around 6 small meals everyday...It will speed up your metabolism

I agree that you are doing great! Your breakfast is a bit lacking and I think bumping up your workouts will get things moving along a little faster. Good luck!

Are you sweating at the gym? I mean, really sweating?? If you are not flushed and really whooping it up in there then step it up until you do - try a spin class or upping the level on the elliptical. In order to really drop weight you need to get that heart racing!

All in all, you are doing OK though -- GL!

losing 1-2 lbs a week is considered safe and permanent weight loss - so i think you're doing terrific!

are you closer to your goal weight than others? because i lost weight faster when i was heavier then i lose now. as i get closer to my goal weight i dont' lose weight as quickly.

also, are you switching up your workouts for a constant challenge? sometimes hitting a plateau happens from the body getting used to the workouts we do... so changing it up every now and then helps.

I agree 100% You should be sweating...I come home at nights, soaked..i feel like a man sometimes (lol) its gross but it shows when your really pushing yourself!

Keep track of how much you are snacking at "small things" after work - raisins and craisins have a LOT of sugar - you may be eating more calories than you think - you are better off snacking on a FEW almonds - count out 10-15 and only have that - more filling, more healthy, and less sugar!Chat Icon

ETA - the coworkers who lost 10 lbs may need to lose more weight than you, and that may be why they are losing more!

Slimfast has sugar.

Is it possible to eat egg whites for breakfast with some veggies?

I love greek yogurt, mix it with some fruit for a great snack that will keep you full.


Try oatmeal for a snack. 1 packet is 2 points. Weight watchers has oatmeal already in a cup that they sell at their store and it is 2 points. I have one every morning and it keeps me full till I have my egg whites and tomatoes a few hours later.

If you are going to have pasta, make sure it is whole wheat

Try to cut the soda out. I only drink water, skim milk and I also drink Decaf coffee. I do not drink anything with Caffiene in it.

If you are having a salad for lunch that you bring from home, put some type of protien in it....Tuna or chicken.

What I do is I buy a rotisserie chicken and everyday when I take a salad I cut up some of the white meat and put it in my salad.
