Not really sure where to post this..
I know there are some new people on here (unfortunately) so very briefly..
I an anovulatory, PCOS, don't get AF on my own...never have without BC or provera. Tried Clomid for months..never got me to ovulate. Had a failed IVF and then got pregnant on a FET.
I am currently 10 weeks PP and to my surprise just got AF.
Now, I this does not necessarily mean I am ovulating right? I am kind of unsure what to do because I am not currently TTC again so I guess I should just start keeing track of my cycles? Maybe this is just a fluke?
Ive heard of a pregnancy "jumpstarting" your system. Does anyone have any experience (maybe those of you that are trying for number 2?)
TIA

Re: Not really sure where to post this..
As you know I pretty much have the same issues as you do ( annovualtory, mild PCOS, very very infrequent AF's on my own)...After I had my DS , I did get my AF a few times but was never certain if I had ovulated or not, because from what I have been told you can have AF without ovulating (your lining is building up in anticipation of an egg releasing and it doesnt happen is how I understand it) What makes it anticipate this in the first place, I'm not sure of though...One way to possibly tell is to temp..
After my DD. I got what I "think" was my AF on 3/15 for one day -really light so that would have made me about 10 weeks PP also...I am curious to this answer as well ...

After my DS was born I got AF a few times, but never on any type of schedule. 20 days - 40 days - 55 days etc.

Re: Not really sure where to post this..
Jen, I asked my gyno about this the other day - he had done an ultrasound of my ovaries, and there were no tiny follies like they were always filled with. I asked if that meant the PCOS was gone. He said that after I stopped breast feeding, I would probably get a few regular periods and then they would stop. Although who knows? The cycle after I miscarried, I ovulated all on my own. My mom says she never had any IF issues, but it took them a year and a half to conceive me, but my brother happened right away.
I guess your instincts were right though!

Jen, it sounds like you and I are exactly the same, except that my pregnancy happened with Clomid.
I can't answer your question because, at almost 12 weeks PP, AF hasn't showed up. I wasn't expecting that she would. But I have this nagging voice in the back of my head that's saying, "Maybe you should take a test". My RE had mentioned that sometimes pregnancy "flips a switch" in your body.
I would record this one, and keep track of when the next one comes. Or maybe you could go and have them do the workup to see if you are ovulating?

Thanks girls. I guess for now I will just keep track and see if another one comes and when. I have a feeling they will stop or my cycles will be WAY long.

Hmm.. Well you are BFing right? I know when you are BFing, it could take much much lonnger to get AF if at all until you stop.
As far as the BW for ovulating goes, Im not ready to go there yet. If the cycles continue and are somewhat regular, I guess I will get BW done to check when we are ready to try again. I need a break for even thinking about that stuff for a while.
