Insurance VENT!!! FINAL UPDATE****
I am so fed up with all of this insurance crap!! I was approved for an IVF cycle back dated to 3/3, (doesn't really help us to date it back!!) and I am suppose to start a mock EEP cycle with my next period which will show up most likely tomorrow since I have been spotting. Anyway my nurse had called in the meds I need for the cycle a few weeks ago, and I kept calling the pharmacy to see what the hold up was, and apparently they have not gotten the prior athorization from my insurance. So I last week I called my financial consultant to see what to do, and she sent an e-mail to my nurse, well apparently my nurse just called my prescription in again to TWO pharmacies, so yesterday I had messages from both telling me to call and set it up with them, so I call both, and STILL neither one has the prior athurization from the insurance, so they can't send the meds, so my DH calls the financial consultant again because I was too upset, and she said she was going to send another e-mail to the charge nurse to solve this problem since I am APPROVED!!! So just now I call the pharmacy again, and they said that they still have nothing!!! ***!!!! And of course I can't call my nurse because she has Tuesdays off!! If I get my period and have to wait another cycle I am going to turn into a RAGING LUNATIC!!!!!!!
UPDATE: I have prescription benefits through express-scripts, so I decided to call them and find out what the hold up was, well apparently for all fertility related drugs, all prescriptions must be FAXED through them directly to get prior authorization!!!! Why wouldn't my RE (or nurses) know this already since I got all of my IUI medications through them too!!!! I seriously don't know how long I would be waiting if I didn't call them, unfortunately my RE's office was closed so I e-mailed my nurse with explicit instructions of what needs to be faxed and to who, I am going to follow up with a phone call first thing in the morning to make sure this gets done ASAP!!
Final update: I just got an e-mail from my RE's office, and it looks like they got it all figured out and my medications should be delievered tomorrow, now AF can come full force, since I have been spotting for a few days, I think my body was trying to hold out since I wasn't ready to start, LOL

Re: Insurance VENT!!! FINAL UPDATE****
I had the same issue with my insurance. I called the insurance company every day, sometimes twice, for two weeks while waiting on the pre-authorization and they never once mentioned that the prescriptions had to be filled at a specific prescription vendor. I had to pay $1,000 out of pocket but thankfully I will get reimbursed.
