So...I could really use some advice.

I posted the last post in October. In December the cops come to our house because the neighbor's house was egged and they said it was us. Basically he said the same thing the first cop said, don't make eye contact don't talk to them etc and if we are egging their house to stop. Well we DID NOT EGG their house, though we did not feel bad for them either. We left for FL the next day and my dog was being sitted by another neighbor so I was very concerned that something was going to happen. Luckily everything was fine.

DH had an idea who the the "cigarette" girl was and talked to her. SHe said he actually SHOVED her and her girlfriend to the ground but were scared to call the cops. DH told her that he was egged and that we were blamed.

At this point he started setting the car alarm at 6 am (3 times on/off every morning). I chaulked it up to some obsessive disorder.

Yesterday they installed Footlball field lights around their entire house. I really don't doubt they have cameras now too. The lights are so bright (one shining directly in my bedroom) that my neighbor 3 houses down see the illumination. They were on all night.

Part of me feels that I should just ignore this all and buy some black out curtains the other part of me feels like this guy is preparing to take retaliation for this egg incident. I am concerned for my child and for my dog. Since our dog is inside all day I am not too worried about when we are not home.
The other neighbors feel something is not right with this man. He definitely has some social dysfunctions and now paranoia.

He has not complained since Oct about the dog but now that summer is coming I see an update to this post. I dread being outside w/o DH when this man is home.

WOW. This reminds me of that movie that came out a month or so ago called Lakeview Terrace. I would be cautious when DH isn't home & definitely keep the doors locked.

What a mental case.. I would hate to be his wife.. how embarassing.. he sounds like a bad 12yr old boy bully.. I would be afraid too.. I really hope he doesn't snap out one day.. If this were me.. i would go make peace just to be safe. And i would convince him that I didnt egg his home.. tis must be exhausting for him so maybe he will agree to the truce.. just to keep my child and family safe "blessed is the peacemaker" JMO

This guy is CRAZY. I would NOT talk to him about anything. If he is willing to push some girl down in the street because she passes by his house, smoking a cigarette, I would never take a chance with confronting him.

I also think you shouldn't be made to feel like a prisoner in your own home. I do not have a dog, and I have no desire to ever own one, but dogs barking in the neighborhood go with living in the suburbs. We have neighbors whose dogs bark for a while outside, but as long as it is not disturbing anyone's sleep, I tolerate it. In fact, the house behind us has a dog that I think barks everytime another dog gets walked past their house, because it's at the same time every day, and for about the same amount of time, and I hear more than one dog barking.

Anyway, what I would do is read up on all your Town codes - there is probably one about the lights. If the lights are disturbing your sleep, you should consider reporting him to code enforcement for your Town. The only thing to think about is that if you can't report him anonymously, this could start a long standing and ugly feud with this guy that might actually make things worse.

He should be careful about that car alarm. If someone has already egged his house, he may get a brick through his windshield if he keeps waking the neighborhood up that way at 6am.
