my pup just broke out in hives recently and we had to bring her to the vet...we don't know exactly what it was from but the nutritionist there recommended ID dog food just in case she had a food allergy

Re: Dog food for Allergies?
Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish. Sounds gross, but he has great poops on it too. You can tell a lot about a dog's health from their poop. He only goes twice a day and they are firm, he has no trouble passing them, and so far he hasn't needed his glands expressed.
I read that most allergies that are food related are caused by grains. NB has limited ingredients and no grains. I also read that most allergies are not food related and are actually environmental. Which sucks, because that's hard to diagnose without a test. I hope she has good luck in identifying it (if she hasn't already) and gives her dog relief with the food choice.
