TV and your baby

My little Shih Tzu Kasey loves to watch TV. It's the cutest thing. He runs up to it whenever a dog is on. He also likes Friends and Seinfeld. Does your baby like TV or is mine the only couch potato?

Re: TV and your baby

Bruno doesn't watch at all but Vito reacts any time a dog or baby cries.

Re: TV and your baby

Kasey is just a year and a half and it's becoming a routine for him and we think it's the funniest thing. As time goes on, he's doing it more and more.
He is the only one out of our 3 dogs that do it. I wonder what it is he see's?

Marley and Me is out today on DVD so we plan on watching it with Kasey! He is going to be glued to that TV!!

Rocco watches it all the time. The Hub and him sit on the couch and watch COPS all the time and he associates the sound of sirens with dogs barking because of the K9 dogs. Its really a cute sight to see. Whenever he hears sirens IRL his ears perk up.

Ollie loves TV! She likes People's Court and runs up to the TV when she sees dogs too. We were watching No County For Old Men last week and a pitbull was shot and ollie actually cried.

Abbey is a TV addict. I love just watching her watch it. It's one of the funniest things ever, like she is following the plot and story line. During scary movies her eyes get wider duing the scary parts. Chat Icon

I know I wanted to cry for her! DH rewound the movie so she would think that the puppy was alive and ok Chat Icon

Re: TV and your baby

One of the dogs occasionally looks up and pays attention for a few minutes, then loses interest.

The other will actually sit and watch with us. She also goes crazy if any kind of animal is on TV - real, cartoon, you name it, even if it's not making noise. She barks, growls, jumps up at the screen, and runs around the corner trying to find them if they walk off the screen. It's cute but annoying (we're trying to train her not to do that & she's getting better), and we're amazed that she knows instinctually that a giraffe or elephant, things she's never seen in real life, are animals (elicits growls/barks), but people in costume or that look "different" on TV are OK with her.

No shame!

When I leave Rocco at home alone, if its only for an hour or two, I leave Animal Planet on for him.Chat Icon
